GI Health Panel ™ The GI Health Panel™ is a non-invasive screen of the gastrointestinal tract and its function. It includes at least 15-22 individual, but related tests that detect a broad spectrum of common pathogens and includes digestive efficiency evaluation. Stool and saliva samples are submitted by the patient after home collection. Intestinal pathogen infections cannot be clinically differentiated solely on the basis of medical history, physical exam, and/or symptoms. Specifc diagnosis requires laboratory evaluation and confirmation. In most laboratories, the general request for stool ova and parasite screening does not include the specialized testing and confirmation provided by the GI Health Panel™ offered at Family Tree Medical Center. Asymptomatic, mild symptomatic, and overt GI pathogen infections can affect and deter gastrointestinal function, and, if undetected, will lead to chronic illness. If you have been suffering from digestive problems such as bloating, gas, cramping, diarrhea, constipation, and/or abdominal pain, you should seriously consider being evaluated and tested. Please contact Dr. Miller at (415) 785-3347 to schedule an appointment. She is a medically trained naturopathic doctor who has been successfully helping patients resolve their digestive problems since 1998. Related Articles: Leaky Gut/Intestinal Hyperpermeability |
